Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Secuno helps you track your working time and earnings. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Secuno, wherever you are in the world. Hubert Kraus is responsible for the processing described here (the “data controller”). For privacy questions, contact [email protected].

At a glance

  • Your workplaces, shifts and earnings are stored on your device, and in your iCloud account if you enable sync.
  • You do not need to create a Secuno account or provide your name or email address to use the app.
  • Apple and RevenueCat handle subscriptions. We download the emoji list from jsDelivr.
  • We do not sell your personal information, display ads or track you across apps for advertising.

1. Information stored in the app

Secuno stores information you enter, including workplace names, hourly and overtime rates, shift dates and times, time worked, tips, earnings and notes. It also saves preferences such as currency, appearance, your selected workplace, the current timer session and reminder settings. A launch counter stored on your device helps determine when to show a free trial offer.

This information is used to track time, calculate earnings, display history and statistics, and create reports. Calculations happen on your device. We do not send your workplaces, shifts, notes or earnings to RevenueCat, jsDelivr or a database on our own server.

2. Optional iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync, available with Secuno Plus, the app’s database is synced through Apple CloudKit using your iCloud account. We do not receive your Apple Account password or access to your other iCloud files.

You can turn sync off in the app’s profile screen. Doing so does not delete information already stored in iCloud. Device backups are separate from sync: app information may also be included in backups according to your system settings. Apple’s services are also covered by Apple’s privacy policy.

3. Subscriptions and purchases

Apple processes payments for Secuno Plus. We do not receive your payment card number or Apple Account credentials.

RevenueCat helps verify access to paid features, process and restore purchases, and analyse subscription performance. It processes a generated app user identifier, purchase history and transaction identifiers, and information about products, trials and subscription status. Connections to the service also involve technical information, such as your IP address and app or operating system version. The generated identifier does not contain your name or email address, but it can link subscription activity over time.

The app may connect to RevenueCat at launch, even if you do not buy a subscription. See RevenueCat’s privacy information.

4. Emoji, NFC, reminders and exports

Emoji. The app downloads an emoji list from jsDelivr and caches it on your device. The provider receives your IP address and standard request information; the file address includes your device’s language code. We do not send your workplace names or selected emoji. See jsDelivr’s privacy policy.

NFC. New NFC tags contain a link with a workplace identifier, but no rates, earnings or notes. Older tags may contain a workplace name. Anyone with access to a tag can read its link. If the link opens as a website, the hosting provider may receive your IP address and the link address. Opening the online NFC guide also connects you to the provider hosting that website.

Reminders and the lock screen. Reminders are scheduled locally after notification permission is granted. A Live Activity may show your workplace name and timer on the lock screen. You control these features through iOS settings.

Exports. CSV, PDF and TXT reports are created on your device. You choose where to save them and who to share them with. Any app or service you choose handles the report under its own policies.

5. Contacting us

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and attachments. We use them to respond and resolve your request. Please include only the information needed to help you.

Providing information is optional, but some information is necessary to save a shift, process a purchase or answer a request. We do not make solely automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

6. Retention, sharing and international processing

Work records stay on your device until you delete them. You can delete shifts and workplaces in the app; deleting a workplace also deletes its assigned shifts. Exported reports and NFC tag contents must be deleted separately. Uninstalling Secuno does not cancel a subscription or guarantee deletion from iCloud or backups.

Subscription records are retained as needed to operate and restore purchases, and afterwards where required by law or necessary to resolve disputes. We keep support correspondence until the issue is resolved, and longer only where needed to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims, until the applicable limitation period expires. Email [email protected] to ask about deleting information we process.

Information is handled by providers needed for the services described above, including Apple, RevenueCat, jsDelivr and our email provider when you contact us. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States, where privacy laws may differ. RevenueCat’s data processing agreement includes standard contractual clauses for transfers from the European Economic Area that require those safeguards. Other providers explain processing locations and safeguards in their own privacy documents. You can also contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.

7. Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can manage work records in the app, disable iCloud sync and change system permissions. You can also email [email protected] with questions about your information or to request its deletion.

Depending on the laws applicable to the processing of your information, you may have rights to access, correct or delete information, receive a copy or transfer it, restrict or object to processing, and complain to a relevant privacy authority. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier processing. We handle requests under applicable law and may ask for information needed to verify that a request concerns your data.

For records held only on your device or in your iCloud account, we can help you work out how to manage your request, as we do not hold a copy on our own server.

Information required by the GDPR. Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are performance of a contract for app and subscription services (Article 6(1)(b)); legitimate interests in responding to correspondence, maintaining security and analysing subscription performance (Article 6(1)(f)); legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)); and consent where required (Article 6(1)(a)). GDPR protection may also apply to people outside Europe; it does not depend solely on where you live. You can exercise the rights it provides and complain to a competent supervisory authority, including Poland’s Personal Data Protection Office (uodo.gov.pl).

8. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the app or the way we handle information changes. The date above shows when it was last updated.
